Six More Ways to Stay Active While At Work

Everyone knows how tough it is to be active when at work. Sitting down for those long extended periods of time is not the best for your body. But, shy of sitting at your desk sporting a workout headband ready to exercise, there isn’t much you can do. That is until you found this post. So, before you rip off that workout headband, check this out! We already mentioned some ways to stay active, but because we know how hectic everyday life has become, we are giving you a few more ways. Now maybe it is a good idea to wear your workout headband at your desk. Just don’t blame us if you get weird looks!

  1. Always Volunteer For a Coffee Run
If a coworker offers to go for a coffee run, switch places with them. Offer to go instead, and take everyone else’s order. You can also make it part of your morning ritual. An added bonus is by hitting up a new place every day! Maybe you will also end up finding yourself a walking buddy.
  1. Waiting For Something – Get Active!
If someone is already using the copier machine, coffee machine, or microwave then don’t let that time go by. Take it as an indicator to take a quick break. Go for a quick walk throughout the office or even do some small stretches or exercises. Don’t make it anything too fancy but enough to get your body moving. This is also great for when you are at your desk. Try to stretch every 30 minutes to ensure that you are hunched over your computer.
  1. Walking – The Best Method
If you have the opportunity to get up from your desk, take it. If you have to email or call another coworker in the office, turn that into a face to face. This will allow you to get out and about. It also allows you to make a more personal connection with your coworker since you can interact with them in person. If they are on another floor, even better since you can take the stairs to go see them. That also means skipping out on the elevator or escalator as often as possible. If there is the option to use the stairs, then take them!
