Don’t go all out on your first day. Instead, start slow and build up. That is how you get better in the long run. Check out these tips:

  1. Walk First

Walk before your run. It’s a crucial step in helping you warm up. Once you get those legs moving, it’s time to run. But, make sure you take walk breaks. This will help you from tiring yourself out early on. You will see that as time goes on your number of walk breaks will drop and your time spent actually running will sky rocket. It is also important to take it slow. No house was built on a shoddy foundation, instead it took time to get the basics right. Running is similar. You aren’t trying to win a marathon on your first run out.

  1. Running Partner

If you are trying to find motivation, look to a running group. Every running group will have its high performers as well as its easy runners. Regardless, everyone will be welcoming. You can find your niche within the group and have a support group to motivate you.

  1. Stretching

Dynamic warm ups are the way to go. It will help loosen your muscles and get you ready for your run. Also, remember to do a cool down. This is a great way to realign yourself and to get your heart rate back to base.
